Today, on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) began the trading of the largest MREL bond issue in Bulgaria (EUR 60 million), which we issued earlier in November. The bell to start the trading session was rung by the executive directors of the BSE, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manyu Moravenov, and of tbi bank, Lukas Tursa.
The issue consists of 3-year bonds (with the possibility to repay after two years), with an annual interest rate of 7.0%. The stock exchange code under which the issue will be traded is TBIF. This is our sixth bond issue to be traded on the BSE.
“We’re truly proud of supporting the growth of the local investor community and building real trust and depth in the Bulgarian capital market. We stepped into it four years ago with the first public subordinated debt, and since then, we’ve come back to the market almost every year, each time stronger. This year alone, we placed nearly EUR 100 million. It’s a great team achievement and a sign of confidence from our investors. We are definitely not stopping here,“ – said Lukas Tursa.
“The listing of the largest MREL issue in Bulgaria is a strong sign of the maturity and development of the debt segment of our capital market. On an annual basis, we report significant growth in the bond market on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange, both in terms of the number of issues and the volume of funding raised. Over the past two years, bond issues on the exchange have doubled. Investor interest in such instruments is growing, giving Bulgarian companies and banks a real alternative for sustainable financing,” commented Assoc. Prof. Dr. Manyu Moravenov.
We established ourselves as a leader in the Bulgarian public bond market for the last four years. We raised nearly EUR 150M, providing investors with attractive and flexible instruments in terms of maturity and return.
